The Relationship Between Professional Competence and Job Satisfaction Among New Counselors in Jordan

Abstract


The study aimed to identify the relationship between professional competence and job satisfaction among new counselors in Jordan. The study followed the correlational descriptive approach, and the study sample consisted of (330) new counselors from private schools in Jordan who were selected by the available sample method, and the job satisfaction scale and the professional competence scale was used after ensuring their validity and reliability.
The results showed that the mean of the study sample answers on the dimensions of the professional competence level among educational counselors in Jordan came at a moderate level, as well as the mean of the study sample answers on the job satisfaction level among educational counselors in Jordan at a moderate level. The results showed a positive relationship between professional competence and job satisfaction among educational counselors.
Based on the study's findings, the study recommends increasing attention to administrative support and professional development for new counselors.
