Abstract
The study aimed to identify the level of psychological alienation of the unemployed in light of their need for career counseling, and its difference according to some variables. The sample of the study consisted of (227) unemployed persons, who were chosen by the intentional method, and the psychological alienation measure was applied to them. The results showed an average level among the study sample individuals in psychological alienation in all its fields. The results also indicated that there are no statistically significant differences due to the effect of faculty in all fields and in the total score on the psychological alienation scale. There are no statistically significant variations related to the influence of educational degree in all disciplines and total score on the psychological alienation scale, according to the findings. The study concluded with a number of suggestions, the most essential of which is to work on developing and implementing specialized extension programs at university counseling facilities.
