Abstract

This study aims to examine the Jordanian legislative framework governing trademarks protection in accordance with the law amending the Jordanian Trademark Law No. 34 of 1999, and the impact of the civil and criminal protection system on trademarks. Trademarks, indicating whether this prevents the registration of a trademark similar to another trademark belonging to others in the same commodity. This study also aims to showing the usage of the trademark for a period of time which earns the owner a legal right that can not be affected with no attention being paid to the fact that the defendant has already registered the trademark because the mark does not protect the merchant from the attacks of others but is a guarantee of consumer rights so as not to be exposed or forced to buy goods he does not want, in addition to the brand is in the interest of both parties to the business process, whether the producer or distributor or consumer
